Creative Blog to Creatively Make Money Online

Written by: Jacob Malewitz, filed within: Blogging

Building a creative blog to creatively make money online is like gaining the upper hand in a card game: you want to say “Look at this great hand” but you’re smarter than that, you want to keep your secrets. I’ve made over $2,000 in the blogging world over the past few months, working short hours and having a blast building many a creative blog. In this article, I’ll show you the royal flush of building a creative blog, mainly by using the creative signs within you and the creative world outside you.

Think of Blogging Income First:

First off you want to see this, what I call a blogging career, from the outset. Blogging doesn’t have to be called just a career or a hobby; it can be both. When it becomes a creative writing pursuit you are better off. Look to the creative signs, then look to the dollar signs. Let’s be honest: most of us would like to make money online. And you can make money online by blogging with income in mind. This means developing a career in writing from the outset, and developing a keen eye for what it takes to blog. Of course, you must know the basics of writing-and keywords-but in the beginning you can make blogging cash.

Think of Creativity:

Building a creative blog isn’t quite like a poker hand-the odds of winning are better. So consider everything creatively. Have fun with this creative blog from the outset.  The blogging market is in its infancy; creative writers are finding voices on the internet with these blogs. Creativity means looking at this more as a business or a means of survival-you will need plenty of ideas for your blogging articles.

Find More Ideas:

If you follow the creative signs from the outset, success is only a matter of time. Ideas are your lifeblood for a blogging career. You need plenty. However, as a creative writer you are always improving, because that’s what creative writers do. Find more ideas by searching through some of the more profitable blogs on the net. Also, check out top news sites and what they are covering. Don’t just sit down and write all you want; sometimes only you will find that interesting.

Blogging Cash Even in the Beginning:

If you want blogging cash for this blogging career, it’s important to stay in the game. Value your time from the outset. The blogging world is full of good blogs. Career bloggers tend to be more common than career novelists. Blogging cash will happen. You may not make thousands, but in the beginning you can earn more now just by writing blog posts than ever before. And it will stay that way for a while. All your blog needs to succeed is some creativity and an understanding of the rules.

Learning the Rules:

There are some rules to this blogging career. First, you must be vigilant for ideas. Second, stay away from racy material and cheap posts (like a famous actress new hairdo). Third, develop a blogging plan that can change. Creative bloggers are not only vigilant for ideas but they also know how to turn one small article into a profitable, popular piece. Racy material may get you some exposure, but the problem is, much of the internet is already filled with that; and it rarely has anything do with creative writing or blogging for that matter. Changing a blogging plan means that you should prepare for a breakout blog and a failed blog, and what you will do when each happens. This isn’t meant as a linear way to make money online in the beginning-more a way of building a readership.

Know this Career in Writing:

A blogging career is a reality for many talented creative writers. Know that. Blogging changed my life in many ways. I never thought I would be living off my blogs; it happened. The world is developing into an internet culture, where people are putting down newspapers to get information on the internet. This is your creative sign: people need content to read. Fact: you can be the one who writes that content.

Playing the Final Hand:

Back to the poker analogy: Good poker players know when to fold and when to bet more, but they don’t think in terms of failure and success-they just stay in the game. Never think your creative blog is done with; a blogging career is there waiting, and the world wants it. Creative blogging is the best way to make money online. You might even make more than poker players. Actually, you will.

Having a blog that covers current events that affect normal people, like Consumerist, is also a good thing, as it would get you plenty of hits.

I don’t really have the time, or the patience, to set up a blog and keep it updated.

  2. Vernors76 Says:

I would love to set up a blog like this (as I would love to earn money online), however, not only would I not have the patience to update it, I also do not have a creative bone in my body.

I think the blogging business is really promising. It have a lot of potential to grow new business opportunities for both the blog owner and the blogger. Many ad space companies are more than pleased to put ads in a blog which is far different than the situation a couple years ago. Being creative is definitely the key to success in the blogging world. And its important to avoid cheap posts and build up a good image for yourself.

I find this very interesting. I used to write all the time and want to really get back to it. I am also wanting to find a way to make money online, but this is the first I’ve really heard of this. I am going to have to find out more.

I am always a firm believer that content is king and it is accurate, up to date and interesting content that ultimately drives the traffic. Once the basics is place, then the various ways of monetizing the blog comes in.

  6. Redward Says:

There is a lot of pressure in a venture like this. A “creative” blog is something that has to be upheld and if it starts to go stale you’re going to have some problems. I really think it’s fit for only certain people and they know who they are. It can’t be a forced thing.

  7. Postman Says:

I think blogs that cover current events and controversial issues will help you get more readers to your site by search engine traffic. Remember that gaining some readers to your site needs time so don’t be afraid to experiment a little bit. I have noticed this on almost all of the famous blogs.

I’m not making money right now but the focus of my blog at this early stage is not to make money build readers relationship. I think building traffic is what is most important when you first launch a blog.

I like this article. Creativity is key. SEO and the like is important but without good ideas, creativity, great content and adaptability there isn’t any point starting a blog. People always want to read interesting posts/articles and once they have found your blog they will keep returning as long as your content remains good.

  9. mamatito Says:

Wow. You guys are full of information. This is an area that I am definitely going to check out a little bit more.

  10. DeAnna Troupe Says:

This is a good post. It is definitely possible to earn a living from blogging. One thing that you forgot to mention is that it takes time to build up a readership and to get sponsors. It’s also good to develop a niche. That will help you with your audience and to get advertising.

  11. Postman Says:

Like I have mentioned before build your traffic at an early stage then as your readers grew, that is the time to get some revenue from your blog. You can do some paid posting on your site or sell some ads on your sidebar. This is what famous bloggers do; they are selling some ads space on their site. From what I know, this has created most of their income. The lists of famous bloggers that are doing this are John Chow, Jeremy Schoemaker, Darren Rowse and a lot more.

  12. attagirl Says:

I would really like to give this thing a try but only making a couple thousand would depend on what the topic is right? How can you build traffic prior to having it and how is the money really made. Through advertising or something. I am not sure about it but it sounds like fun.

  13. mamatito Says:

Wouldn’t it be better to be more varied to get more readers? I mean if you stick to a specific idea, doesnt’ that cut down on the people that would come to your site?

  14. Somnilocus Says:

Nice. I always imagined making any money off blogging must be next to impossible. You made me see how it’s possible to actually turn the idea into reality.

Mamatito, while greatly varying your writing will indeed bring in a larger number of readers to begin with, it’s not going to get you repeat readers because they can’t be assured that in coming back there will be anything that interests them.

  15. green Says:

Creativity is key to having a successful blog. I think the most difficult aspect of trying to make a successful blog is finding ideas for contents that would keep the visitors coming. Being able to write unique and interesting content can be a real challenge.

  16. descorpio Says:

Creativity is the key to any business. Because a same business may be done by 1000 people. But how different are you is an important thing. It is not just by having the creativity one can earn much. He should know and for that he should have some guidance or help from his friends to take the different path. But that will not happen until others try to reveal the formula for success.

  17. liowkc Says:

I think in these days of abundant blogs available on the net, it is difficult to stand up and come up with sensational content. Most blogs and articles basically say the same thing; so I think a website should have some special characteristic or feature to attract visitors and make them stay.

  18. Melvin Says:

nice post. The real key in here is being creative with what you do. There’s no room for being afraid. You always have to test out the waters and experiment. In that way you can learn your lessons and do better next time. I think it’s simple as that…

  19. mamatito Says:

well, that does make sense. I myself tend to revisit sites that I think will have info that I’m interested in. I”ll have to keep it in mind.

  20. Leeuh Says:

This is one of the best posts I’ve read so far. It’s extremely informative. Along with creativity, and original content you have to have something else. It’s not really the creativity side of things, it’s the one thing that makes your blog stand out and be remembered by people. Anyone can be creative, but not everyone has what I guess you call the ‘IT’ factor.
