Affiliate marketing can be a tough business to get into. You have to build a website, take time to promote it and still may not see the profits you were expecting. So what now? Well, you need to use your skills to market. To drive more people to your site, you will need to utilize other skills to help promote your business. For example, you may need to create appealing advertisements to attract customers.
Many people will say that they don’t have any special skills. Everyone does. It just takes a little time to figure out how to use them in your affiliate marketing business. If you are great at making websites, then that’s an easy one. You can make a killer website that no one can resist clicking through.
If you are good at writing, you can utilize your writing skills in order to write articles about your affiliate marketing product. You will also need to be really creative in coming up with different angles for your articles. You will need to be able to produce a large amount of articles in order to reach the maximum number of people possible.
Even those who are interested in video can get into the game. You can create a video to put on your website. Many people would rather watch a two minute video than read a long article because they want the information you have to offer and they want it fast. This way, you can reach people who otherwise would not be interested in your site.
Not only will you be able to spruce up your website, but you can also use sites like YouTube in order to further promote your video. It will give you double the potential customers and maximize your profits, which is all any affiliate marketer can hope for.

Nice. It’s true, everyone has skills and you have to find a way to incorporate what you do best into marketing. Would like to see some more creative suggestions on marketing, though.

It really seems like videos are becoming a huge factor in the success of sites these days. I’ve noticed a lot of blogs are starting to allow users to post video comments. TechCrunch has been doing this and it’s much easier to understand a person’s sentiments when there is visual communication.

Yeah I do agree that people need more creative suggestions on how to market…but then again youtube is great and so many users are on it everyday. I would like to get more users onto the sites that I do as well, any suggestions?

Right now I’m just thinking of selling affiliate products. I’m thinking of writing an article about it and do some SEO. I know I could have some sells out of my SEO but at least I won’t have to pay for them. Until that time, I guess that I would have to buy some ppc campaigns to do all the selling for me.

Yes, using videos for affiliate marketing is working very well these days. People like interactive sites and seem to be responding to them better than to just content sites which is why a lot of people are moving towards web 2.0 and social networks. I guess a lot of people involved in article marketing spend time on polishing their articles than they need to. I know several guys who haven’t perfected article writing and yet they are generating more sales than some of the killer copywriters. The trick is producing a decent piece of work and not wasting time sitting over it while others deliver the goods and saturate the market.

I think it’s true that media such as videos and podcasts are expanding the way people use the web. So just writing articles for affiliate marketing may not be enough. It’s probably enough right now because the pendulum hasn’t swung too far, but in the future it may go more and more toward video.

@dreamr802
I’m not sure what you are asking, but my understanding is that you’ve acknowledged a lot of people go to youtube, but how do you actually get them to your site?
If you make youtube videos that are of original content and then put maybe your logo on the video it will create great exposure. You can also mention that there is a lot more content available at your website and direct users to it.

That is good, but can you give other ideas other than video? I mean, other examples.

I would say that @dreamr802 has given us a valuable point. But i also have a doubt whether we can drive the traffic to our site or not. It always depends on us whether to get hold of the customers or not. The intial tight hold is very important. But also concentrate on the contents part.

No matter what amount of traffic your site gets or has, it means nothing if they are not buying. If they are not buying you have to determine if the pricing on the items you are selling is the problem. If you just want people to visit your site then good. But if you are really out to make money then you have to take the marketing seriously and make a plan that will work for your site.
