I think having great content is the most important thing when developing you website. Great content on your site would have people linking back to your site. It is what makes your site popular and what makes visitors coming back to your website.

I doubt continuous promotions should be done, because you should not over do it. Link building should be done in a regular basis and you need to be patient to wait for these links to mature.

I think people will do it for you — if you’re talking about referring other people to your site — and you won’t need to pay them if they’re getting something else out of the relationship. Usually it’s getting their name out in front of more of the public as well.

Good tips to link building. Another good way that I have learned is if you have a topic of expertise then write an e-book on that topic pointing back to your site and give it away to people who want to research and learn more about that industry. You could even allow the readers to upload and share the e-book with their site traffic. This will do two things a) The more sites uploading your e-book the more the backlinks pointing to your website because the search engine spiders crawl the e-books as well. b) People who are downloading the e-book will surely visit your website from the link in there and if your site is good then you may gain more repeat traffic.

No one will do it for you unless you are paying them. If you are thinking of hiring someone then you can go to digitalpoint and hire someone to work for you. I’m sure that you will get your money’s worth. Another thing that might work is to spam those url’s on related sites.

Yeah whatever you are blogging about has to be important to people. There’s no point in blogging about something that no one is really interested in. Plus the promoting will help everything in the end. And I do like the idea of guess writing, that sounds good and gives readers different view points on things.

Another great article. Content is the indeed king. Of course the niche matters but fresh, unique content is still what gets the visitors. I have personally experienced this out too. When you have good content you’ll even get links from unexpected sites. Guest writing seems like a good idea. I’m going to try this and see what response it gets. Thanks.

That’s true. You have to promote yourself otherwise your site will be lost in the mess that is the internet. Quality and unique content IS extremely important. You can promote the heck out of your site and get millions of visitors, but they’re not going to stick around whats the sense?

What liowkc says is right. Content alone will not give us the traffic. But the theme also matters. It must be popular enough and a hotly debated topic so that we get many search terms mapping the site. Article writing and forum submissions are one of the best ways to do this.
