If you are promoting an affiliate site and not getting anywhere with it, maybe it is time you get more from affiliate marketing by looking into some promotion options that you have right at your fingertips. You can promote a site to friends and family until you are blue in the face, but this isn’t going to get you more business necessarily. What can get you more business is more free internet tools that will enhance your affiliate business.
First, try promoting your affiliate site with a blog. It does not have to be an obvious over-the-top advertisement in order to get people to click the link. You can keep a permanent ad on your sidebar, as well as a few posts every once in awhile about your outstanding affiliate product.
Paid to click sites are also another great way to get the traffic you need to build your affiliate business. Just make the clicks, advertise your site, and let the money start rolling in. The only problem you will run into with these sites are that everyone else has had the same idea as you, so most of the time you will be clicking through other affiliate pages just like yours.
The best promotion for your affiliate site by far is not on the internet. Everyone with an affiliate site uses the internet. Be creative and move beyond the web. Put your affiliate site on business cards. Print fliers to hand out. You can find many other creative ways in order to get the most out of your affiliate marketing.

I would be interested to speak with you about possible offline affiliate marketing methods. I’m doing something similar in my real estate business with house finders. When you get down to it, they do my marketing for me for free… and I pay them for any leads they bring me that I close the deal on. How’s that for adding value to other people?

My take on the subject is that it is really difficult to stand out when there are so many affilate sites promoting the same product. Therefore to get attention and sales, you must have exceptional content to stand out.

I would also suggest article marketing, press releases, specific Web2.0 pages (such as Hub Pages and Squidoo), and responsible social networking (especially Twitter). All these will raise your profile on that topic and increase traffic to your blog. You will be setting yourself up as an expert and your recommendations will be seen as more reliable.

Blogs are definitely the way to go. All major search engines favor blogs because they can easily be updated and the content is always fresh. Having a blog on the same domain adds to the SEO value of the site. The PPC model is also a great way to advertise your website and topping that list is Google’s adwords but it’s always better to learn a bit about adwords before taking the plunge. Yahoo publisher network (YPN) is another good advertising network when using PPC to promote your website.

After reading this post I will try some other ways as you have mentioned and wait for result. I hope those techniques will work for me. Many of my friends are earning good bucks from affiliate marketing. I always take advice from them.

Eh… Affiliate programs/ad programs are extremely difficult to make money from. People see the same ads everywhere and eventually ours eyes just stop seeing them, we learn to ignore them, they go completely unnoticed. People very rarely click on ads.
Your tip for taking it offline as well is a great idea. Many people just stick these things on their site and expect to earn money this way… but you have to be active in it. You have to promote it.

I use SEO tools for my affiliate sites but I am also interested in using paid per click or targeted click services because I can be sure some of the visitors will buy from my affiliate site. I am not just relying on paid per impression income. It’s too small anyway.

Actually the PPC model is one of the best ways to increase the popularity of any product. Sadly it is being misused by many and more scammers have become involved. It has become an increasingly difficult task to identify the cheaters from the real deal.

If you want to make money from affiliates, you often have to think outside the box and think long term. Imagine if you could get someone to sign up for hosting through affiliate. You could make money from the same people every month because they are paying for hosting every month. Don’t just look at the regular stuff everyone else does.

Affiliate marketing is just another way for you to earn money online. You can promote as many affiliate as you like and you can do this by writing an article for this certain product or services being offered in that particular affiliate. You can post your article in your blog or if you can afford, you can try making a landing page for your affiliates. You can try affiliate programs like ClickBank, commission junction and others to start with.
