Make Money Blog Writing

Written by: webmaster, filed within: Blogging

Many writers make money blog writing for cash for paid sites like Pay Per Post, Smorty, and Blogitive. Some writers make nothing, and cannot get readers. The difference is the first often sets out with a plan; the second was hoping for luck along the way. Obviously there are other reasons, so this article will define how to make a steady income as a working blogger from day one. Day one might not be $100, but day 100 just might be.

Start with a business plan:
Blogging for cash is one of the most reliable ways to make money online. You make quite a bit if your blog becomes popular. Would an extra $500 a month sound nice. Making that much from blogging is not out of the question Some bloggers make more than that, actually. What you need is a good business plan from the outset. A business plan is a simple strategy of choosing topics for your blog, the ways you can make blogging cash in the short and long term. You should be choosing what your domain name will be, what blogging service you will use, and if this will be profitable in the paid blogging world.

Write 3-5 Posts a Week:
Writing a blog post almost every day is crucial. This is not getting the posts in for the paid blogging services-you are trying to build a readership. If they see you post almost every day, and they like what they see, there is a good chance you can get them as steady readers. Steady readers means constant hits on a daily basis. Constant hits means your blog ranking will rise, which means more paid blogging opportunities.

Write on Popular Topics, and Write them Well:

One site you should become best friends with is The New York Times Most Searched Words and Phrases site. This will tell you exactly which keywords are hot. If your blog is on politics, obviously Clinton, Obama, and Bush will be high. Or maybe you have a film blog, and an interest in action films by the likes of Tom Cruise and Arnold Schwarzenegger; these are strong topics. Think in terms of phrases that will be used instead of just using one word constantly. For example, “How many votes did (NAME) get in the election?” would be better than just saying the individuals name.

Then you need to learn the basics of writing good blog posts. This isn’t writing for a magazine-which is why it can be great-because you can have errors on some of your posts. But spellcheck and pull out your grammar book. Spelling certain words wrong on your blog post may make readers look somewhere else. A basic, original article on the right topic is just the first step. Quality is crucial. It will lead to more hits, word of mouth referrals, and greater revenue in the end.

How Can I make Money?
The best way to make blogging cash is to stick with 1-5 blogs for several months. The good thing is some sites like Pay Per Post only require you to blog for a month before joining. However, you still need readers. Consider this a long term plan, as once you get 100 posts with a good keyword count, and on interesting topics, you will always, and I mean always, get steady hits on your blog. Once that happens you are ready to start earning blogging cash quickly.

What Sites?
Choosing a paid post site is tricky, and your choices may change every week. Some of the best sites I have worked with include Pay Per Post, Smorty, Blogitive, and Loud Launch. If you want to start blogging for cash, that is a good start. Look at this like a writing career: If you focus on wriitng just for one magazine, when it folds or stops accepting articles, you will be in deep waters. So spread yourself out with paid blogging services, as they will change.

There are many talented writers out there looking for new paid blog entries. It doesn’t hurt to send them an email every month or so asking if there have been any changes (better yet, if they’ve heard of new paid blogging sites). Or you can just find a good blog site that reports paid blogging services. Start asking questions from the beginning. You will learn all this and more.

If you’re making money by blog writing, are you including putting ads on your blog and getting revenue from them? I assume on most blogs that you host yourself you can put things like Google adwords? Or maybe I’m confused about that.

  2. Postman Says:

Making money with those paid to blog sites s the first thing that newbie bloggers are going but they have forgotten that we can make money from selling ads space and affiliate programs. All you really need is to get some readers to your site. This is the trickiest part because building a lot of readers takes time and takes a lot of effort not to mention some money on some bloggers.

I feel like you have presented the essence of blog writing here. The most important is to choose the topics and to have unique content. Both will bring in more traffic. There should be some dedication in the work and sincerity in doing posts.

This is a good article. The problem with many bloggers is that they don’t have original ideas. They hear a success story and try to copy it. When they don’t get enough visitors they easily give up. Patience is the key. You have to put in a few months of hard work before you can start earning money.

Many bloggers still frown on Pay Per Post blogging, as if there is something “dirty” about it. I guess there is the risk of presenting biased information, but many PPP programs offer great quality content, and any blogger will have biases whatever method they use to make money.

But, I still prefer other methods of monetizing blogs - affiliate marketing, advertising, pay-per-click etc. And as you rightly point out, this is not a get-rich-quick scheme…you have put in the groundwork.

I agree with this article, most bloggers that were able to make money from their blog sites says it took them 2 years before they even started to earn something from their blogs. I think you should be able to post at least 1 topic daily for a period of 5 years if you want to have a successful money making blog.

  7. Postman Says:

I tried doing paid posting on my first blog and I earned quite a bit of money but I think one should buy a hosting plan if you want to write paid posts. I had a bad experience because my first blog was deleted by Blogger for doing paid blogging.

Doing paid posting isn’t the only way to earn money, but that pretty much sums up how to get started on it, nice post :) One thought, though. Sites like PayPerPost operate as much on the PR of your website as they do your readership, maybe you should write about that next? :)

Wow, I’m doing only paid per postings right now but I’m looking to broaden my horizon with blogging but I didn’t know where to start. Thank you for all of this information i’m going to print out all the information that I like and use it to help supplement my income.

  10. Chris2k5 Says:

I have done this before actually. I was hired by an individual who had a blog that wanted 5 news posts a day. He was paying $25 per post actually. Long story short, do not trust people who do not live in your country. This guy stopped paying me and I was forced to delete most of my posts so he could not get free posts.

I always believe that content is king. Without content, the website is nothing. So I guess for me, the first thing about the blog is that it has useful and update contents to the readers. All the other money-making devices such as adsense will follow nicely and naturally with the basics in place.

  12. Postman Says:

I have only one blog and I’m writing on it six days a week. I’m hoping to get a page rank soon since I’m planning to sell some reviews and ads space on my site to get some money from it. This two are the best money makers for John Chow. I’m hoping that someday I could make as much as John Chow.

  13. bluet Says:

Wow, thank you for these tips which I find most useful for me. I think it is important to find a blog with a topic that we like. It is not just about the job, it is about having fun and making money at the same time. I think we should stick to a few blogs for the first 3 months at least.

  14. Postman Says:

While you are developing your readers paid blogging will give you the money since traffic needs time to grow. I have a one month blog right now and I’m not expecting to earn from it since almost all of the paid-to-blog sites only accepts blogs that are 3 months old with regular content on it. Good thing that I write regularly on my blog.

  15. vttop Says:

Yes, reviewing other websites and products is a good way to monetize your blogging efforts. Although search engines aren’t exactly proponents of paid blogging, they seem to be ok with it if the bloggers mark the reviews as sponsored posts. Moreover, once the blog gets popular, one can also earn from the advertising revenue their blogs generate. After all, by writing and promoting their blogs they are creating virtual real estate that will continue to go up in value, provided it remains well looked after.

  16. DeAnna Troupe Says:

Once again you have written a very informative post. I disagree with your everyday format for blogging. That is too much for most beginning bloggers to keep up with. I try to write in my blog at least every week. Sometimes I write more depending on my schedule but my readers know that they will get something new on my blog at least once a week. Of course if I get new information, I post the new information as I get it. I think people should find a schedule that they can stick to and stick to it.

  17. bulletservice Says:

Pay per post is a good revenue earning tool. There are many options available nowadays to earn some buck through blogging. You can show some advertisement on your blog and make some money online. I am using some advertisement on my blog and it is working very nice to me.

  18. Somnilocus Says:

Interesting. I’m going to consider this after having read this post.

I’m having trouble finding the perfect blogging service, though. I’ve been to Blogger, Wordpress, LJ, and such… are there any that you would absolutely recommend as the best?

  19. ghuraba_t Says:

You must be very careful as to the way you want to monetize your site. Plan it out ahead of time and don’t just throw on what ever comes your way to make quick money. If you are doing adsense, stick to adsense, don’t put other stuff on it.

  20. ghuraba_t Says:

One of the most important things is your marketing and promotion of your blog. No one will know you exist if they can’t find you. This will take a lot of work and a lot of time so be patient. For every hour you spend writing content, spend about another five to ten promoting and marketing your website. After a while it will start promoting itself.
