Minnesota Bloggers Bring Bloggers and Businesses Together

Written by: webmaster, filed within: Blogging

March 3 marks the first meeting of the Minnesota Biz Blogger Meetup Group. The group has 16 members and will meet at 5:00 pm. The meeting will gather people from Minnesota’s various business community along with blogging specialists. The blogging professionals will help business owners to understand the impact of blogging, pay per click advertising and other interactive web strategies on today’s business environment.

Caroline Melberg, founder and CEO of the Small Business Mavericks, said that successful blogs can help business owners move their business web sites up in the search engine rankings. Moving up in the search engine rankings can result in more web site traffic, which in turn can result in increased customer loyalty and higher revenue. The meetup is designed for business owners who want to get more out of an existing blog as well as for businesses who don’t yet have blogs but are interested in starting one.

There is no technological background required to attend the meetup. Any small business owner that is interested in blogging as a marketing tool is welcome to take part in the meetup. Beginners will find a wealth of helpful information on starting a blog while more experienced bloggers will learn how to grow their blog and their business.

Business owners at the meetup can learn from other business owners that already have successful blogs. They can share best practices and discuss strategies for increased blog traffic and network with each other, Melberg said.

Biz Blogging Basics, which is a complete do it yourself blogging package for small business owners, will also be introduced by Small Business Mavericks at the meetup. The package is backed up by extensive research. All of the strategies included in the kit have been tested on several blogging sites. The kit includes strategies on establishing yourself as an industry expert and on announcing new company product lines and services through an active blog.

In addition to the new product launch and networking opportunities the meetup provides, attendees will also have free access to a $300 per hour web consultant who will provide helpful strategies on effectively using blogs, social networking sites and Web 2.0 web sites to increase business visibility. Attendees will also learn what to look for when hiring paid blogging staff to their company’s payroll.

The meetups will occur monthly and each meeting will focus on helping small business owners to get the most from their web sites and blogs. Topics for future blogging meetups will include marketing ebooks with a blog, selecting the right blogging platform and pay per click blog marketing. Other future topics include RSS feeds as a marketing tool, effective web design, integrating a new blog into a preexisting web site, search engine optimization, viral marketing and web site promotion.

Small Business Maverick will be sponsoring the meetup. The company specializes in helping small businesses make the most out of their web presence to increase visibility and sales.

Melberg Marketing is also cosponsoring the meetup. While the meetup is specific to Minnesota, the organizers hope that the concept will spread to other ares throughout the country.

That sounds like a very good idea. It is always good to connect with like minded people. You can bounce ideas off of each other. You could also get new readers and new clients through the people you meet with on a regular basis. I hope this meetup works well for the people in Minnesota.

It does like a good idea for them, but I can’t help but feel that soon blogging will just be a massive convoluted mess of businesses trying to pass themselves off as individuals. Of course, that happens a lot now, but if small businesses start to get in the act too then it could just get out of hand altogether.

Joining these group gatherings can help you become recognize in the world of blogging. I think that I would have joined them if weren’t from the fact that I don’t belong to their country.

Anyway, I like attending group gatherings like this one from my country. I think that this is a good start.

I remember getting an invitation for the bloggers meet here in my local area last month but was unable to attend it. I think meetings like these provide a world of opportunity to make money and learn things.
